ANALYSIS OF BETEL NUT VALUE CHAIN FOR EXPORT PURPOSES IN AGAM REGENCY

The demand for betel nut from international markets is continuously increasing, but the agricultural supply chain this product quite complex and requires special handling, thus affecting product's price. Therefore, research on analysis of value-added chains crucial to determine amount additional value each stage actor involved in chain. was conducted Palembayan, Agam, Padang, West Sumatra May August 2022 using qualitative quantitative descriptive methods with primary data experts farmers secondary literature studies related sources. This study found that has potential be exported several countries, such as India, Iran, United Arab Emirates, there are problems hindering distribution process. involves parties, ranging suppliers exporters, no contractual relationship between them. also identifies criteria suitable export, including low water content, uniform color, large size, meeting food safety standards, high sugar content. process exporting Indonesia India selection collection, processing packaging, transportation, export.
